Running for President
1) Why do you believe you are qualified for this position?
I have previously served Badger-PAH as Secretary, At-Large Board Member, and on the Social Committee. I have consciously tried to make an effort to meet and know the names of as many members of the group/community, and try to understand the group’s interests, thoughts, concerns, and what makes this group successful. I have served this community both politically and socially, including the overhaul of our By-Laws and standard operating procedures, attending/documenting/actively participating in Business Meetings, creating digital art to promote socials and add whimsy to our online community, and also bringing many of our member’s social event ideas to life. Through my interactions with Badger-PAH, I have definitely learned a lot about teamwork, community, and humility in what it takes to create a safe, cohesive community for all to enjoy. If elected, I hope to continue to serve this community to the best of my ability.
2) If elected to this position, what goal(s) do you hope to accomplish during your term?
Badger-PAH has been important to me as a welcoming space for all avenues of safe, informed, and consensual self-expression and activities. I hope to maintain that in our community, and also try to expand collaboration with other outside groups and resources to enhance the group. When members have ideas or concerns, I hope to bring those to immediate and respectful attention. I am also excited to bring to life the best of ideas to keep things fresh and exciting.
3) What interests you most about our organization?
I love the outfits! The opportunity to freely self-express ourselves as we’d like really appeals to me, whether it be a unique species, a kink, or a daring new outfit. I love that we offer safe spaces to explore and share these parts of ourselves in a welcoming and affirming environment.
4) Do you have experience in running/leading a club or organization?
Yes, I’ve been on the Board for Badger-PAH twice already, and previously I have served as Captain of my Alumni Volunteer Association for my Alma Mater, Coordinated several large-scale socials, and acted as president of a couple of organizations in school.
5) What do you think will be your biggest challenge as an elected board member in the position for which you are running for?
My biggest challenge is really networking outside of our local community to other kink-based and relevant communities in the larger scope of things. I am limited in availability and lack the ability to explore these things myself, but I am confident that with effective communication, organization, and teamwork, I can collaborate with a Board Team to fulfill any deficiencies I have in these places. Also managing my over-enthusiasm to want to do everything.
6) Which qualities do you feel are most important in a potential candidate for the position in which you are running for?
Listening and openness. With my co-board members, the membership at large, the community and even other groups tangential to ours, and even the local community. We all have to share space, and it is important that we act in ways that can uplift ourselves yet not bring harm to others. Also organization and creativity and communication skills are a plus for this.
1) Why do you believe you are qualified for this position?
I feel that I am personable and willing to work with anyone to achieve our common goal. I am responsible and want to help to make Badger-PAH all it is and can be.
2) If elected to this position, what goal(s) do you hope to accomplish during your term?
I hope to help further our community and help those in need. Maybe do a few fundraisers for local lgbtq+ charities. I believe we are a strong large community with a great amount of unique strengths that we can use to help not only our leather/critter community but also our lgtbq+ community as a whole. This group has helped pull me out of the funk I was in and gave me the community and home I was looking for, for my pup and myself. I want to do everything I can to do the same for others and pay back to this group what they have given me.
3) What interests you most about our organization?
That Badger-PAH is open and accepting of all critters and handlers. Unlike some other groups this group has a robust event calendar and is open to different events or outings.
4) Do you have experience in running/leading a club or organization?
In the past I was vice president and secretary of our fraternity and then I was president and treasurer of the Greek council and then I also was president and vice president and treasurer of our local paranormal group while in college. I am also safe zone trained as while as founded and hosted the first annual anti-bias training called Stand.Together at Ripon College. Since then I have been trained as a certified peer specialist.
5) What do you think will be your biggest challenge as an elected board member in the position for which you are running for?
I worry that I can’t make it to every event and I’m unsure if that is expected of the position. I know I can make it to meetings and a decent amount of events. As well as the larger events in the area. I currently live 50/50 to 65/35 trough out the year between Marshfield, WI and Albany, WI
6) Which qualities do you feel are most important in a potential candidate for the position in which you are running for?
Understanding and respect. I also think they should lead by example
