ABOUT US

Badger-PAH, also known as Badger Pets and Handlers, officially came to be on April 9th, 2017. What originally started as a group of friends who shared a common interest has turned into a rapidly growing community with members in several states. Something that sets us apart from other Pet and Handler groups is that we focus on including and including members across the entire state of Wisconsin rather than around just a city or small area.

The core mission of Badger Pets and Handlers is to spread knowledge of pet and handler play across the state of Wisconsin, to be a positive force in serving our community, and to provide a diverse forum where individuals can come together and exchange ideas in a safe and welcoming environment. Our specific mission is threefold:

  1. Education: We believe that education is one of the most positive influences on society. Pet and handler play is a niche culture born within other marginalized groups of people. Ignorance leads to distrust and negativity, therefore we will take the lead on bringing valuable knowledge and insight from our world to the people of Wisconsin. We have two specific educational missions:
      • To provide unbiased information to our members on safety when engaging in pet play, navigation of interpersonal relationships, physical and mental risks, consent, and benefits to personal well being
      • To educate the public on what we do, why it is important to us, and what we give back to the community.
  2. Service: As members of marginalized backgrounds, we are keenly aware of the day-to-day struggles people face both within and outside our community. We believe that by uniting for the common good, we can better serve those who are in need. Our service mission focuses on helping members of the LGBTQ+ community gain access to the resources they need through fundraising, advocacy, and providing trusted points of contact and information for those in need of physical or mental services.
  3. Community: We believe there are many people who are interested in pet play, but that visibility and communication are needed to inform them that they have like-minded individuals who share in their thoughts and struggles. Furthermore, we need spaces and events where our community can safely come together so that knowledge and ideas can be exchanged with diverse people from all over the state and beyond. We wish to provide those spaces to our community so that we may all grow together in unity, wisdom, and fraternity.

He/Him
1) Give us an interesting fact about yourself.
If I could clone myself and date myself I would – Just think I already know what I want/don’t want, like/don’t like, what I enjoy doing/don’t enjoy doing, and everything in between and all around.
2) When did you join Badger-PAH, and why did you decide to join?
I joined in February of 2020 right after attending F2 in Wisconsin. In life I was exploring myself, learning about myself and trying to find who I am now as a person. What I stood for and what was missing from my life/heart. When I was invited to join by a puppy of the group; I had had no knowledge of the pup community. Since being here I have truly found a missing piece of my heart and life.
3) What’s one goal you’d like to achieve while serving on the Board of Directors of Badger-PAH?
The main goal that I have for myself is to look into and improve upon current/existing goals, events, and other activities run by Badger PAH.
